The bleeding time can be lengthened some by the regular intake of omega-3 fatty acids of more than 1 gram daily. This can lead to the heart not needing to create as much pressure each time the blood is to be pumped around the body, and thus the blood pressure can be somewhat decreased. This has also been shown in several clinical studies.
